Oxford, IN – Benton Central High School is proud to announce that senior wrestler Sophia Zarate has been selected to represent Team Indiana in the prestigious 2026 Indiana vs. Illinois All-Star Classic Duals. Zarate was invited to compete in this highly respected event, which features many of the top senior wrestlers from both states, including numerous state placers and state champions. The event showcases the very best athletes from Indiana and Illinois as the two states assemble elite “super teams” to compete in a dual-meet format. With her selection, Zarate is believed to be the first Benton Central wrestler to ever represent Team Indiana in the Indiana vs. Illinois All-Star Classic—an outstanding honor that highlights her dedication, hard work, and success on the mat throughout her high school career. The 2026 Indiana vs. Illinois All-Star Classic Duals will take place on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Mooresville High School. Competition is scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM, with doors opening to the public at 11:00 AM. Admission for spectators is $8. The Benton Central Athletics Department congratulates Sophia on this tremendous accomplishment and wishes her the best of luck as she represents Bison Wrestling and Team Indiana against some of the best wrestlers Illinois has to offer.
