The Benton Central Lady Bison delivered a strong performance this weekend at the Logansport Invitational, finishing 2nd overall out of 8 teams in a highly competitive field. Chesterton High School claimed the team championship, but the Lady Bison showcased depth and talent across the lineup in an impressive runner-up finish. Leading the way in singles play, Emma Hinds captured the championship at #2 Singles, while Taryn Klemme also brought home a title with a 1st place finish at #3 Singles. At the top spot, Violet Hardebeck battled her way to a 3rd place finish at #1 Singles, adding valuable points toward the team total. In doubles competition, Benton Central saw multiple contributors step up. The #2 Doubles team of Keely Watt and Rayna Werner earned a 2nd place finish, continuing their strong play on the season. At #1 Doubles, the rotation of Olivia Hardebeck, Skyler Smith, and Kara Schieler competed hard throughout the day and secured a 4th place finish. Overall, the Lady Bison’s balanced effort across both singles and doubles flights was key to their runner-up performance, highlighting the team’s depth and competitiveness early in the season. Benton Central will look to carry that momentum forward as they return to the court on Monday, April 13th, when they host North Montgomery with a 5:00 PM first serve.
