OXFORD, Ind. — The Benton Central Lady Bison turned an early deficit into a statement win on Thursday night, rallying past Seeger 12-6 in an impressive all-around performance at home. Trailing 6-1 after three innings, the Lady Bison refused to back down. Instead, they erupted offensively and shut the door defensively to complete a dominant comeback victory. Leading the charge was Chloe Linder, who delivered a huge performance at the plate. Linder drove in five runs on four hits, including a solo home run in the first inning, a two-run double in the fifth, and a two-run triple in the sixth. Her production sparked Benton Central’s offense and helped shift momentum for good. After Seeger jumped out early with a two-run home run in the first inning and continued to build its lead through the third, Benton Central began chipping away. Madison Minniear ignited the comeback with a two-run home run in the fourth to cut into the deficit. The Lady Bison then took control in the fifth inning. Harper Butler brought in a run with a sacrifice fly before Linder delivered a clutch two-run double. Sydney Groves followed with an RBI double, giving Benton Central its first lead of the game. The momentum carried into the sixth, where the Lady Bison put the game out of reach with a five-run inning. Butler, Linder, and Minniear each drove in runs, while Julianna Sibray added a sacrifice bunt RBI to cap off the surge. In the circle, Harper Butler was outstanding in relief, earning the win. She tossed three innings, allowing just two runs while striking out five. Reagan Dowell started the game, working through the early innings before handing things over to Butler. Benton Central’s offense tallied 12 hits on the night, with Groves and Minniear each recording multiple hits alongside Linder’s standout performance. The Lady Bison will look to carry the momentum forward as they return to action at home Saturday against Delphi.
