Monticello, IN -- Wednesday, April 30th Reagan Dowell delivered an outstanding performance at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and two singles, but the Benton Central Varsity Lady Bison came up short in a hard-fought 12-7 battle against Twin Lakes on Wednesday evening. Dowell’s bat was on fire, collecting hits in the second, fourth, sixth, and seventh innings. Her offensive spark helped keep the Bison in the game as they continued to battle throughout. A major bright spot came when Sophomore Julianna Sibray launched her first career home run over the left field fence. She turned on a 3-0 pitch and sent it out of the yard, capping a memorable moment in her young career. The Lady Bison offense showed balance and grit, racking up 12 hits on the day. Mariyah Rich and Chloe Linder each drove in two runs, while Sibray and Madison Minnear added multiple hits to the effort. Linder got the start in the circle for Benton Central, allowing just four earned runs over three and a third innings. The Bison defense faced a seasoned Twin Lakes lineup that took advantage of early opportunities to build their lead. Despite the final score, the young Benton Central squad continues to make strides, showing fight until the final out. The Lady Bison return to action on Thursday with a home game against Lafayette Central Catholic. First pitch is set for 5:00 PM at Kenny Greenberg Field, Home of the Lady Bison.
